Exciting news released by the immigration department in November 2023, disclosed that both the medium term stream and short terms streams of the 482 TTS systems will now have a pathway to permanent residency via the TRT stream of the 186 visa – after working for their employer for a period of 2 years. Regulation 5.19 of The Migration Regulations 1994 has already been amended to reflect this change. What does this mean? All ANZSCO occupations will have a pathway to permanent residency under the 186 TRT stream.
